About The Designer

Modern essence of timeless classics

'Well dressed is a compliment we give ourselves.'
- Neha Mehra

The founder and creative director of designer label Neha Mehra designs an evolved conversation with the timeless classic look. For the past 16 years, Neha has explored this unique approach backed by nuanced workmanship.

Her logo, a geometric lotus, represents her loyalty to the classics but with the promise to retell its charm in a modern narrative.

Taking inspiration from her travels, her early creations were dipped in her ancestral roots of Rajasthan where the nudes of the dessert met the pop of the cultural shades of leheriyas and artful ornamentation such as gotapatti and resham embroidery. On the global map, her design aesthetics lean into Italy and its rich renaissance history translating into clean lines and linear motifs.

She is known for her hand-embroidered ensembles that include traditional lehengas, blouses, sarees and kurtas. Her threadwork weaves a unique linear pattern to create timeless expressions.

Neha offers a bespoke experience to every client – be it for her pret or couture line. Her clients love her for her attention to detail.

This sensibility continues into her Pret line too, which are playfully pretty with trendy ruffles, evergreen flowy silhouettes and surface ornamentations.

The same charm extends to NM label’s Petite Collection for the little dressers. The mother of two has developed a knack for making her youngest clients stand out cheerfully setting the trend of a twinning closet with parents, making it a perfect fit for a family affair on celebratory occasions.

The Neha Mehra label spells classic chic and timeless couture, pieces that can be worn from time to time.

Neha Mehra has pursued a Diploma in Apparel Design from SNDT University, Mumbai, in 2004, and then a Master’s degree in design from Institution Marangoni in Milan, Italy, in 2007. In the past, she has worked with Manish Malhotra in 2008. During this time, she was introduced to the glamour of Indian wear.
